What Ash’s heeled sneaker couldn’t achieve, Isabel Marant’s high top wedge trainers did! Now every where you go, whether its ZARA, Forever21, TOPSHOP, ALDO etc- they’re all stocking similar versions. I managed to get my special editions ones from ZARA which are almost the same as Isabel Marant except that they’re not! 😛 But hey I don’t have £400+ to spare on those shoes so I have to settle for the next best. If you are intrigued, check out the prices of the Isabel Marant’s high tops on eBAY and your heart may just temporarily stop beating.

To be fair, these shoes aren’t everyones cup of tea so please don’t buy them just to seem “fashionable” because they can also have the opposite affect!

This is how I styled mine:

High Top Sneakers: ZARA (Buy yours here)

Faux Fur Jacket: French Connection UK

Statement Collar Necklace: ASOS

Red Lippy: NARS matte lip pencil in RED SQUARE (LOVE IT!!)

Rings: TOPSHOP

You can shop similar high top sneakers from ZARA and other high street retailers. If you’ve got extra money to spare then ASH is also doing some funky ones (bottom two).

When updating your wardrobe, it’s not always an overhaul you need. You can easily spruce up your whole look by adding key pieces to your wardrobe. I recently shopped at Zara and after a long hiatus, at River Island. I bought some great items from both stores that instantly make my outfit the focus of attention.

Items I bought from Zara:

A red Zara jumper from TRF
A pair of skinny jeans
A jacquard print jacket from TRF
A Leopard gem encrusted necklace

Shoes I bought from River Island:

River Island Saline Studded Boots in red

Items you may already own in your wardrobe:

Bright coloured trousers
Faux leather leggings
Red heels
Beige boots

Now what I have prepared are more than 5 looks (and counting!!) that you can have with these items. With limited cash flow and everyone wanting a piece of the latest fads, it’s time to get creative ladies!! So here’s my take on what I bought and how I intend to wear it. The great thing about the jacquard print jacket is its multicoloured and can go with bright colours like electric blues to subdued beige. Dress it up with a dress or dress it down with a pair of skinny khakis- there is no compromise on style.

Here you go ladies. I hope this gives you inspiration for trying different looks with key pieces in your wardrobe. Enjoy!

Please keep on reading my blog and spread the love!! Xxxxxx

Okay guys! I’m back from my hiatus. I know it’s been a while. I was just looking for some motivation as I was getting lazy. But I’m back now so will endeavour to be more regular in my posts.

I’m sure you’ve had this feeling of walking past a window display and a shoe, a top or a jacket calls out at you. The more you walk past, the more you want it. Yep! Happened to me. I could not resist but buy these red boots from River Island.

20121002-103802.jpg

I had seen a similar pair in Zara but I wasn’t that impressed with them.

20121002-104044.jpg

Some might disagree with me and think the ones from River Island are more wacky than the Zara ones. But what I do know is, both these pairs are inspired by the gold studded Susanna boots by Chloé.

20121002-104316.jpg

These boots come in red and black and have been worn by numerous celebrities working the trend of studs this winter and jazzing up their wardrobes as well as look. They’re great for giving your look an extra oomph.

So while I was browsing Harvey Nichols, my high street boots had a face off with the designer counterpart. Suffice to say, I was happy with mine. Also, if I were to buy the designer version, I wouldn’t pay such a steep price for them- I’d rather go for a more classic pair of boots. I mean these boots are great for jazzing up my wardrobe but £90 is the max I’m willing to spend on them.

I’m loving how many high street retailers are coming out with similar, if not exact copies of the designer versions. It’s great for us who want to wear the designer look, but can’t afford it all the time. Any you’ve spotted while browsing? Let me know. Xx

Hah! A cheeky way to turning around that jacket potato joint Spud-u-like. Don’t sue me!! 😛

So tell me. Is it just Zara or every where I look, they’re going crazy about studs?! Well not that I am complaining because I am loving the details of studs on jackets, shoes and tops! Obviously I had to indulge in some stud-lovin’ too. Bought these beauties from Zara for £69.99. You should still be able to get your hand on one if you’re lucky!! Click here to buy the pair. xxx

Hello my fashionable readers! Yes I know I go M.I.A for a while and then re-appear. I need to keep my act more consistent. But hey that does not stop me from shopping 😛 So I bought this sequin top from TopShop in a sale and matched them with these mint coloured trousers I bought from Zara and these studded boots. Studs seem to be the “IT” part of the outfit at the moment. It is all about the studs- on the jackets, shoes, gloves, shoulder pads; you name it. So here I am being oh-so-casual at a friend’s.

Today was a day of chilling and strolling through the streets of London. Hey you know the London summer I kept on dreaming about all these months?? Well what do you know! Its finally here, if only for a week!! But hey! Better live it up.

Decided to keep it cool with a pair of Zara print trousers, pinned a flower to a plain T shirt to jazz it up and accessorised with my Prada sunnies, a beaded necklace and D&G bag for the KAPOW affect!! 😉 aaah! I got burnt! I think it will last me till whenever the next time Mr Sun will grace us. Xx

Loving my Vivienne Westwood boots I managed to grab from the crazy Selfridges’ Summer sale! I fell in love with these boots when they first came out in black. But I prefer their tan version. It was love at first sight and fate finally united us!! I believe there is a God!! 😀 xx

——————–

I decided it was time I started sharing my recent purchases with you guys. Since I spend most of my time (and money) on shopping AND eating, I thought why not. Being a bargain junkie, my shopping is a mixture of pricey as well as not so pricey items.

Since I am about to embark on a longish holiday, I am currently in a holiday shopping mode. Now who has NOT heard of TK Maxx?! Please don’t say you haven’t! Being a bargain junkie that I am, I’m in love with this place. You have the likes of Michael Kors, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Versace, Alberta Ferretti and the list goes on- gracing the rails of this store. Sometimes, I feel almost cheated on paying full price for things and realise what is their real value when you can easily find them in stores like TK Maxx?! Not that I’m complaining!! In fact, bring it all here!

So today I had embarked on finding myself a pair of silver high heels for my brother’s upcoming wedding and instead I found myself hogging the rails of TK Maxx. Soon enough I found myself holding a purse and my! what a gorgeous purse. Very elegant and understated- in a royal purple colour with an inner finish of fuchsia. It’s primarily for travelling so you can hold your passport, tickets and other travelling documents in one place. How many times have you found yourself at the airport counter rummaging through your bag trying to find your ticket or the boarding pass or your passport?!……Ok, just me then! 😛 Under a tenner, this baby is going to be my best travelling accessory! It is by this designer called Anna Di Angelo. I haven’t heard about this designer but it’s a start.

The next accessory I bought was a silk scarf from Zara. I think I am unconsciously buying everything that has purple or fuchsia or pink in it. I think my body is trying to get ready for Spring! aah! Can’t wait!! But yea, again under a tenner, could not resist taking a few shots with the purse juxtaposed on top of the scarf.

And then there were the shoes! I am a crazy shoe addict. Some people call me the caterpillar- I have stupendous amount of shoes! I shall do a post soon about my collection of shoes. They’re divided into different categories; My Going-Out Shoes, Everyday Shoes, Wedding Shoes, Sporty Shoes, Semi-Formal Shoes, Unisex Shoes……You get the idea right? As I am in the holiday mode right now, I bought myself two pairs of shoes because I may need them for a party or a wedding- who knows. Both of these I got from Dune for around £50 and I was very pleased with myself.

The Beige peep toe pair is very minimal yet versatile. It is very Spring Summer 2012 and will sit well with all the bright colours I wear. The heel is high enough to not be uncomfortable after a while. I love this pair and for under £20, I’m quite pleased.

couldn’t resist! And I love the combo!!

The other pair of shoe is just so beautiful, classy and chic with the right amount of femininity to it. The diamantes, the silk satin finish, the pointed front, the cut out design from the sides finished off with a pretty bow at the back- these shoes just did it for me. And in black, they’re a killer pair of heels! I cannot wait to wear this sexy pair out!

Alright, this sums up my recent buys! Hope you enjoyed these. I will be sharing my shopping more regularly now. Just saw the time- gotta go and sleep! Catch you guys later. As always, do write in, give your feedback and share!

Stay fashionable! xx

+ high-res version

We all like to be prepared when it comes to different seasons during the year. For London, there are mainly two seasons. Cold and rainy or Hot and rainy. What’s common between the two? RAIN!! One thing we cannot ever get used to is the amount it rains here. After ruining my much loved footwear to water damage, I thought it was high time to invest in a good pair of wellington boots– or “wellies” as we love to call them.

I couldn’t just wear any wellies. They had to be stylish and they had to stand out! So I started shopping around. My first love was Vivienne Westwood for Melissa wellington boots. The very first ones I remember had cute bows on them in different colours but at that time I did not think much of buying anything for rain as I was like “Pooh! I’ll survive rain!” But oh boy! Was I wrong! It took losing several lovely pairs to the blasted rain before I decided to buy a pair.

I looked around for these but either never found them in the colour I wanted or my size. But after much searching, I did find the ones by Vivienne Westwood and they were the Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Studded Bootie 111 from Selfridges for a cool £98 and they are SO WORTH IT!! I have been complimented left, right and centre for them.

Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Studded Bootie III Now £58.50 on ASOS

At the moment they are on sale on ASOS, so click here to get yours now!

But during my search, what I did find was how some brands were dedicated to this “genre” of shoes: The Rain Boots!

One designer brand that I find is completely dedicated to these shoes is Burberry. Every season they keep on adding to their already extensive range of rain boots. From Equestrian style to buckled up- they have a design for everyone. Obviously when you’re talking about Burberry, the price is not going to be cheap. They start from £135 onwards but what I have found with their designs is that they’re very versatile, they blend in and you can carry them off with ease. They’re not like Hunter wellies that stand out like a dog in a herd of sheep! I’ve worn my Vivienna Westwood’s to work soooo many times and they look cool! My top favourites for this season are:

EQUESTRIAN RAIN BOOT WITH LEATHER BELTS £235

LEATHER TOP RAINBOOT £250

BACK ZIP RAINBOOTS £225 (comes in 3 different colours)

Not to be left behind is GUCCI. I have one and only one favourite design from there and I was after them for a while. They were available on the online store but had not arrived in store, and whilst I was waiting for them I found the Vivienne Westwood’s and fell in love with them instead!  GUCCI came out with the “storm” flat boot with signature web detail that I instantly fell in love with the moment I saw them! Had they been available in store I would have bought them straight away. Priced at £180, you would not expect anything less from GUCCI and to be honest the price is reasonable for the design, quality, brand name and the amount of times you’ll get to wear these shoes especially if you live in a wet city like London. Red is definitely my favourite in this design:

“storm” flat boot with signature web detail £180 (Available in 3 colours)

To shop or view the Gucci pair, please click here.

And if you’re feeling extremely extravagant and want to splurge and are a regular at music festivals, then Valentino has a stunning pair for you!

VALENTINO Studded rubber knee boots £435

VALENTINO Studded rubber knee boots £435

As is obvious, at £435, they do not come cheap but I love the studded detail and the way the strap is buckled along the sides as well as the buckle detail around the shin. I personally would not spend that much on “rain boots”, but if you’ve fallen in love with them and money is no object, then click here.

But if you’re a bargain hunter like I am, then I found these amazing pair of wellies by MEL, that look similar to Vivienne Westwood’s range.

Mel Rubber Boots £37.99

If I did not know who designed them, I would’ve assumed they were by Vivienne Westwood. And guess how much they cost?! £37.99 ONLY! Bargain! New Look is selling them at the moment. They come in three different colours. To buy yours, click here.

And if you’re looking for even more selection of rain boots, then Net-a-Porter (love this site!!!) has a dedicated section just for these. To view that, please click here.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Feedback welcome! Till the next post, laters yeah! (my take on the east-end accent; don’t hate :P)

Little did we know, in a couple of years studs and spikes will be the rage. Well, thanks to Lady Gaga you can wear these impalers in the name of fashion and no one can question you! Wear it with leather and some people may even question if you’re into S&M? You know what?! Tell them to look at your shoes and think again. I am not suggesting anything here! I thank my lucky stars I can walk home at night thinking, should anyone attack me, I’ve got my secret weapon walking with me.

But to be honest, I have developed a liking to this trend and I am in complete love with these shoes. They give your whole attire an edgy look- a bit of rock and roll! You don’t want to look princess pretty all the time! So here’s a pick of my favourite studded loves out there:

Church’s:

Although sold out on Net-A-Porter’s website, you can buy these shoes in two colours- black and navy blue. You can still buy these shoes in Selfridges or Church’s stand alone stores. These are my favourite and on my wish-list!! Anyone who loves me out there, you know what to buy me! 😛

CHURCH'S Ketsby stud-embellished leather ankle boots £350

Sam Edelman:

These suede leather studded ankle boots (that was a mouth full, let’s try that again!) by Sam Edelman are great for dressing up a casual outfit or even dressing down an outfit. Wear it with leather tights or a pretty dress- these shoes are versatile and can easily be carried off with each look. Click here to buy them.

Sam Edelman Pax Leather Studded Ankle Boot £145

The second pair by Sam Edelman is similar to the Pax Leather boots but in a shoe boot heeled version. If you love heels and studs, then this is the perfect accessory to go with your outfit. The heels give these boots an oomph and they’re the best of both worlds. Totally unique and a great addition to any wardrobe. I love them! But at £217, I’m contemplating whether I’ll wear them enough to justify the price! Have a look for them here.

Sam Edelman Renzo Leather Studded Shoe Boot £217

Zigi:

You know that S&M comment I made earlier? Well these shoes so fit the bill. Looking at such shoes, I just wonder what if I trip and some how manage to injure myself with my own shoes or rip my dress?! How stupid would that be?! But anyway, that’s just me being random. These shoes are by this brand called Zigi. They’re a good twist to the regular black high heels but save these for a night out! To buy them, click here.

Zigi Soho Stud Back Heeled Shoes £58

Ted Baker:

Ted Baker is one of my favourite high street designers and even he could not resist delving into the “stud” trend. These shoe boots have a classier version of the studs around the ankle and the black colour means you can wear them with jeans, dresses, tights or just the shoes on their own. Your choice! To buy them, click here.

Ted Baker Leather Shoe Boot With Stud Detail £97

And then my very own favourite FAVOURITE pair that I bought from TOPSHOP for a cool £28! I have featured these shoes in a number of my looks if you browse through the  “What Am I Wearing?” category on the top left hand side. Or if you’re lazy like me and can’t be bothered, then click on the following links:

Zara Does Chanel

Studded Loafers by TOPSHOP £28

This concludes my round-up of all the studded goodies I have found this week. Love xx
