This eyeliner is too good to not be mentioned which is why I just HAD to write a quick blog post and sing its praise. And no I’m not getting paid for it. I’m simply being nice- another one of my new year’s resolutions 🤔 (not!)
I always get so many compliments like gurrrl what kinda voodoo is this!! How does it stay in place so perfectly? No raccoons eyes, nothing!
Yep! That’s right. I’ve found the perfect eyeliner that does not only give you the flick you desire but also the strength of steel against smudging.
This is one eyeliner that does not fade or smudge! I’ve been using it over 2 years now and I keep on buying it over and over.
Hello HELLO all you gorgeous people! I know, I know! I’m really bad at updating my blog and need to be doing it more often.
So, how’s everyone been? I, for one, am LOVING the summer that London has finally been blessed with after such a long time. It felt like ages since I had worn any of my summer stuff and it felt weird walking out of my house without a jacket or any scarf. For a couple of days I felt like I had forgotten something… Even felt a little underdressed. But those days are truly behind me (hope I haven’t spoken too soon!)
So what have I been doing?? Well other than busy working and exploring London, every chance I got, nothing much. To be honest I’ve been quite lazy updating the blog. However I am quite active on my Twitter account (@NidaJehan) and Facebook Page (Miss TikTik) so please come say Hi over there! 🙂
Seems like London has a sale every other month and for someone like me, who LOVES to shop, is an excuse to shop even MORE! so I met up with my friends and we went to the Zara store on King’s Road just to see what was new there.
The thing with Zara sale is that they start with really high prices and the sale prices keep on dropping every two weeks and then every week. So much so that you end up buying tops for £9.99 that you previously paid £20, or more, for! Not cool Zara. So I always wait till the very last few weeks and have a browse.
I didn’t like much in terms of clothes but did end up buying some amazing accessories!
The one I am wearing at the moment is this dragon pendant which I bought for £5.99 (bargain!) it was originally for £20 or something ridiculous like that. I love it because its stylish, really adds an edge to your outfit and can jazz up a plain T shirt. It’s quite eye catching so really demands attention. It’s slightly heavy but then at least it’s not made of cheap plastic 🙂
So what’s your sale shopping been?? Share your bargains and tips! 🙂 till the next one lovelies xxx
Back in London town from my Easter break and the SUN IS OUT!! If you’re wondering why I’m so excited to see the sun…well! It’s April, still windy, cold and miserable in London and finally the sun greets us! Hell yeah, I’m going to be ecstatic! 😀 What did you guys get up to? Anything exciting?!
Here’s hoping spring is just around the corner and the snow doesn’t make a comeback *fingers crossed* because this Spring it’s all about some flirty fun! I plan on wearing lots of colour, quirky prints and sandals. My feet are dying to breathe! Talking about fun and flirty, who loved Burberry’s heart prints visible through see through skirts as modelled by model-of-the-moment Miss Cara Delevingne.
Safe to say, not all us fashion lovers can afford the extortionate prices of Burberry but us humble fashionistas can improvise and look else where to other brands who can cater to similar tastes! With all the major fashion weeks having given us full blown doses of fashion back to back- there are brands who have taken inspiration from the catwalk and offered us fashion lovers something to look forward to wearing this spring/summer!
A brand that has just hit my radar is Max Studio. Although an established brand since 1979, it has been quietly successful and looking at their current collection- there are definitely pieces I would want in my wardrobe! Their Spring/Summer 2013 collection has some inspiration pieces from the likes of Burberry like the heart-printed jacquard trousers and shorts.
Looking around the site, it’s very easy to navigate and what I look out for on any fashion website are the VISUALS. They need to be crisp, detailed, stand out and colourful! They need to shout at me to look at them…not even look…GAWK at them! And this website does that. One of my favourite dresses from their new collection is this printed geometric number. I just love the colour combination and can think of a number of ways I would wear it- with some amazing accessories! Ah I’m getting giddy with excitement thinking about how many looks I can milk out of this dress. After all, we are still in throes of an economic downturn dah-lings so got to be smart about it as well, y’know!
Also love this red dress! Perfectly fits the fun and flirty look for the coming season! Love the sheer panel details as well. And for someone who is conscious about their upper arms (ME!!), the cap sleeves coupled with the pleated skirt give a flattering look.
Now ladies, it’s crunch time. Yes, we are going to talk about the monies! Now these clothes don’t come cheap. The geometric print dress is retailing at £99 where as this red number is £175. These are not your run-of-the mill purchases. You spend this sort of money when you’re giving your wardrobe a makeover. And since we’re just at the cusp, where Winter is (HOPEFULLY) bidding farewell and Spring is stepping in, I have a feeling a lot of us will be going for that uplift very soon. I think if you’re good with accessorising then you can re-work these pieces over and over again! Trust me I do that all the time and people still ask me if I’m wearing a “new” top 😉
All in all, I’m impressed with this brand and will be keeping a close eye on these guys! Who knows I may end up adding a few pieces myself! 😉
Check out their Spring/Summer 2013 collection and see if anything catches your fancy. Have you bought anything from these guys before? Let me know how your experience was and what is your opinion of this brand?
Okay guys! I’m back from my hiatus. I know it’s been a while. I was just looking for some motivation as I was getting lazy. But I’m back now so will endeavour to be more regular in my posts.
I’m sure you’ve had this feeling of walking past a window display and a shoe, a top or a jacket calls out at you. The more you walk past, the more you want it. Yep! Happened to me. I could not resist but buy these red boots from River Island.
I had seen a similar pair in Zara but I wasn’t that impressed with them.
Some might disagree with me and think the ones from River Island are more wacky than the Zara ones. But what I do know is, both these pairs are inspired by the gold studded Susanna boots by Chloé.
These boots come in red and black and have been worn by numerous celebrities working the trend of studs this winter and jazzing up their wardrobes as well as look. They’re great for giving your look an extra oomph.
So while I was browsing Harvey Nichols, my high street boots had a face off with the designer counterpart. Suffice to say, I was happy with mine. Also, if I were to buy the designer version, I wouldn’t pay such a steep price for them- I’d rather go for a more classic pair of boots. I mean these boots are great for jazzing up my wardrobe but £90 is the max I’m willing to spend on them.
I’m loving how many high street retailers are coming out with similar, if not exact copies of the designer versions. It’s great for us who want to wear the designer look, but can’t afford it all the time. Any you’ve spotted while browsing? Let me know. Xx
I always feel the visual merchandisers and the people who do the displays of all these clothing retailers are the silent soldiers and people who deserve true accolade for their hard work. I have found myself going into the store just because the window display was done so well that I wanted to go into the store and check out what they had to offer.
But those visual merchandisers who go a step forward and capture the theme of the whole nation take the gold medal hands down and are the unsung heroes. Speaking of gold medals, yes the theme is Olympics. I loved how some of the retailers truly captured the essence of what was and still is one of the most amazing and epic events to take London by storm. The Olympics 2012.
Two retailers who stood out the most with their eye catching window displays were Forever 21 and H&M. Kudos to the visual teams of both these stores who made a genuine effort translating the excitement into what were “athletically” creative displays! Loved the way Forever 21’s displays lit up during the day and moved around in a circle. Brilliant!!
I just think about how much work would have gone into suspending those male mannequins in the H&M displays and what an eye catching display it is-completely in line with the excitement and spirit of the Olympics. With Paralympics around the corner, here’s hoping more retailers will pay heed and jazz up their displays as well. Come on!! show some excitement!!
Hah! A cheeky way to turning around that jacket potato joint Spud-u-like. Don’t sue me!! 😛
So tell me. Is it just Zara or every where I look, they’re going crazy about studs?! Well not that I am complaining because I am loving the details of studs on jackets, shoes and tops! Obviously I had to indulge in some stud-lovin’ too. Bought these beauties from Zara for £69.99. You should still be able to get your hand on one if you’re lucky!! Click here to buy the pair. xxx
One new product on my “To Try” list is this Estee Lauder Even Skintone Illuminator. Although, people tell me I’ve got clear skin, I’m not very good at taking care of it. I get lazy and careless. Like any other girl, I have uneven skin tone so from the sounds of it, this product is perfect for me. Priced at £46 for 30 ml and £62 for 50 ml, it is not the cheapest beauty product around but I do swear by Estee Lauder products, they stand the test of time and are high quality products. On enquiring about the product from the beauty counter of Estee Lauder at John Lewis, the lady told me it is a serum that illuminates your skin and you can wear it under your regular moisturiser. It is similar to Strobe cream by MAC that I buy loads of. So definitely want to see what’s the difference between the two.
You can get your hands on it from any leading department store like Selfridges, House of Fraser, John Lewis and Debenhams etc. If anyone reading this has tried this product then I would like to hear from you! Email me.
Guess what I came across while shopping at Westfield Stratford. Triumph was showcasing it’s latest collection of lingerie, hosted by the feisty Brix Smith (I know her mainly from battling out her designer dresses against Gok in Gok’s Fashion Fix) There were four models modelling Triumph’s designs with Brix going around and explaining the history behind each piece. I saw more men than women gawking at the beautiful ladies! haha. Till the next one! xx
The title says it all! Are you one of those girls who spends ages trying to perfect the arch of your eyeliner? I don’t know about you but I guess I speak for myself when I say we’re not all make up artists who can perfect the eyeliner arch in one swish. Every time I do put the eyeliner on, I know I have to spend another 10 minutes trying to clean it, perfect it and reapplying it. So, most of the times I just don’t wear it!
I think my search has finally come to an end. I am so excited that although I am dead tired today and want nothing more than sleep, I couldn’t help but share this with you. I came home and tried it straight away!
The eyeliner I am talking about is by Soap & Glory, which by their name seems more like a bath than a beauty product. But trust me, their products are super amazing!
I tried this eye liner and it is extremely easy to apply. The liner is like a sharpee and if you’ve got a steady hand you can easily create the shape you want. Now I have tried loads of eyeliners from Urban Decay, Maybelline, Mac and couple of others but I have found this one the easiest to apply. For an amateur like me, I will prefer this over any other while the Maybelline one is a close second. It’s as simple as creating the arch shape that you want and colouring it in as you would with a colouring pencil. Forgive the quality of the photo, but you can tell the shape is almost perfect and this was done under 30 seconds!!! (for one eye that is :P) I did not have to use any eye make up remover to tidy it up. Now that is an achievement.
So GO BUY IT!!
You can buy it from BOOTS in their beauty section or click here to order online. It costs £6 but it is definitely worth it.
Ever since I first bought the body scrub product, by the British beauty brand Soap & Glory, from BOOTS, I have become a loyal fan of theirs. I would like to share a little bit of history about this beauty brand that I have come to love. This brand is the brainchild of suds-loving entrepreneur and celebrity facialist Marcia Kilgore. She counts Demi Moore, Madonna and Calvin Klein among many A-listers as her clients.
Before I knew about the history of the brand, I knew how good they were because I used them and the products spoke more than enough for the brand’s credibility- A Listers or no A Listers. If you suffer from dry flakey skin then their “Flake Away” scrub and exfoliator is THE BEST product I have tried so far. It literally leaves your skin ultra smooth as if you’ve moisturised it. It smells great, feels great and works like a beast!
I am a fan of brands that not only focus on the product itself but the packaging as well. It is the presentation that attracts me towards the product. The packaging is not only fun but extremely humorous. Their marketing is spot on, you really get it and can relate to it. An example is:
They do a whole range of products from bath to beauty and I swear by these products. I have not been disappointed yet and I was going through the reviews left by customers- quite a relief to know how well they’ve been received. Have a look at their website and products by clicking here.
That is all for now ladies and gentlemen (?). Till the next one xxx
While the Queen, the Royal family and the whole of UK celebrated her 60 years on the throne in one part of London (and my did they celebrate in style!), I celebrated by gallivanting around London ignoring the miserable rain!
I wanted to see what the Queen wore on this special occasion and was not disappointed by the photos. The Queen’s coat and hat was designed by Angela Kelly. I love the colour and regal style of the coat made of silk organza with Swarovski details on the hat . Even at this age, the Queen has style!!
Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, looked beautiful in an Alexander McQueen red pleated skirt suit finished off with a nude pair of heels-which seem to be her favourite pair of heels. But it was perfect for off setting the red and making sure there was not an over-kill of red.
Rather than do a lot of talking in this post, I will let the pictures do the talking. I started off by eating at The Breakfast Club in Soho and roamed around Carnaby Street taking in the sights and sounds. I also visited Liberty who have an amazing collection of scarves (Alexander McQueen, Kenzo, Etro, Paul Smith, Christopher Kane and the likes) and stationery! Poles apart but equally amazing. I DIE.
After our brunch, we made a pit stop at the oh-so-cool vintage store Beyond Retro. They have some really cool stuff if you’re into vintage.
Has anyone been to Pylones?? They serve the quirkiest and most colourful stuff ever. I love that shop. You have to check it out.
And right opposite to it you have Irregular Choice– another quirky footwear store that dabble in a bit of everything; shoes, clothes, bags, sunglasses. And as the name would have it, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea!
Saving ourselves from the rain, we ran into another fabulous Italian cafe’ in Soho called Princi Bakery. It is my favourite place to go for coffee and food in Soho so far!!
For anyone looking to invest in a good designer bag, Liberty is currently doing a 40% discount on most of their bag range including Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Mulberry etc. I was eyeing this yellow python print Falabella bag by Stella McCartney for £795 and after discount it was for around £477. So tempting!! Just one thing- you have to sign up to their loyalty card. Honey for that discount- I’ll sign up for any loyalty card!!
Anyway, the following pictures show how I spent my Jubilee day!
Enjoy and keep on visiting my website for more cool and fashionable stuff! 😉 xx
