Stylish updates live from London by a freelance personal shopper/fashion stylist, entrepreneur, PR and social media marketing enthusiast. Here to inspire, be inspired and network.

Hello HELLO all you gorgeous people! I know, I know! I’m really bad at updating my blog and need to be doing it more often.

So, how’s everyone been? I, for one, am LOVING the summer that London has finally been blessed with after such a long time. It felt like ages since I had worn any of my summer stuff and it felt weird walking out of my house without a jacket or any scarf. For a couple of days I felt like I had forgotten something… Even felt a little underdressed. But those days are truly behind me (hope I haven’t spoken too soon!)

So what have I been doing?? Well other than busy working and exploring London, every chance I got, nothing much. To be honest I’ve been quite lazy updating the blog. However I am quite active on my Twitter account (@NidaJehan) and Facebook Page (Miss TikTik) so please come say Hi over there!🙂

Seems like London has a sale every other month and for someone like me, who LOVES to shop, is an excuse to shop even MORE! so I met up with my friends and we went to the Zara store on King’s Road just to see what was new there.

The thing with Zara sale is that they start with really high prices and the sale prices keep on dropping every two weeks and then every week. So much so that you end up buying tops for £9.99 that you previously paid £20, or more, for! Not cool Zara. So I always wait till the very last few weeks and have a browse.

I didn’t like much in terms of clothes but did end up buying some amazing accessories!

20130726-164739.jpg

The one I am wearing at the moment is this dragon pendant which I bought for £5.99 (bargain!) it was originally for £20 or something ridiculous like that. I love it because its stylish, really adds an edge to your outfit and can jazz up a plain T shirt. It’s quite eye catching so really demands attention. It’s slightly heavy but then at least it’s not made of cheap plastic🙂

So what’s your sale shopping been?? Share your bargains and tips!🙂 till the next one lovelies xxx

First off I should start off by introducing myself – Hi I am Britt and I am here guest blogging for the amazing MISS TIKTIK all the way from sunny Australia. I lived for 2 years in London and have recently moved back to Australia. I love fashion and being a little bit fancy. Last week I was a little bit fancy and went for the DIY OMBRE.

So I am a tad bored of natural dark brown hair and I for one can not stand the exorbitant price that it costs to get a hairdresser to do your hair. I understand that it is skill but I have quite long hair so there is no chance that I get change out of £150. (And hairdressers never get it exactly right- especially when we are talking about a current happening look)
So when something comes on the market that promises to give you a access to a trend, from the comfort of your bathroom for the grand total of £10, I think it is always worth a shot.

DB Ombre

The ombre (or balaynge – people seem to get cray if you call it one and not the other) is the current look ‘de jour’. Drew Barrymore absolutely rocks it. To achieve this at home L’Oreal have brought out the wild ombre DIY kit. The kit comes in three shades depending on the base colour of your hair. As I already had some slight blonde highlights I went with kit number 2.
Now the trick to these kits is reading the instructions (which I struggle to at the best of times) and having confidence in your abilities (despite the fact that you are not at all trained in the art of hair- the many pictures you have studied of celebrities with the outcome that you desire must have rubbed off right?!)
This kit was ridiculously easy. You literally went a little bit scientist and mixed some chemicals and then brush it on to your hair with the brush they give you.
They give you a guide to where to start the dye. They suggested for long hair to start at the chin- however I wanted a more drama (unusual for me :P) so I went from the top of my ear and slightly higher at the front to create a more natural progression- you don’t want to have a straight line of colour or else you give the DIY job away instantly.
When you are applying it, you part your hair and apply dye in two pigtails. So you can definitely do this solo. (And rock out a country song while you are at it)
The brush insures that you dont totally dye all of your hair- just natural brushed sections. I do recommend though that you have someone- brother or boyfriend can even do it (it’s that easy) – make sure that you have brushed all the way around the back in a basic level kind of way.
I left the dye on for the longest recommended time (45mins) as I have quite dark hair and wanted to make the colour stand out.
I was REALLY impressed with the outcome. I have provided a before and after shot – it is hard to show the colours on camera but I did my best #nofilter. I don’t think it looks like a home job at all (and if it does maybe you should break it to me gently) It has a very natural colour progression that I was really happy with.
I would definitely use this product again and would love them to bring it out in Australia so I don’t have to order it online.
If you have thought of trying this look- do it! This kit makes it almost too easy.
I am also excited to add a bit of temporary colour later and rock out a cosmic ombre (not sure how the office will take that one).

Love my blingin’ owl ring I got from Irregular Choice and this surprisingly cool Zara bangle. Surprisingly because I don’t normally buy these things from Zara and lately they’ve been doing really well in that department. How did you accessorise your look today? Would love to see!😀 xxxx

Sooo!! looks like I was in a deep slumber… a hibernation of sorts. Now that summer is around the corner, I feel like I’m feeling alive again. Hah! I’ll save you the dramatics! I guess it was a combination of being lazy + too much going on! But I’ve kicked my back side. I’ve invested a lot in this site and my work and I should not let anything stop me! Found this awesome inspirational quote (via breakfastatyurmans.tumblr.com) which pretty much sums me up!😉

Shoe ADDICT:

Ok so I saw these Caroline Issa X LK Bennett (collaboration) heels and DIED! Love the pom pom detail at the back and the colourful embroidery which also reminds me of the Pakistani outfits I have. These heels are perfect for the summer, worn with a pair of skinny jeans/trousers or a flirty dress. Très Chic Daah-lings!😉

Back in London town from my Easter break and the SUN IS OUT!! If you’re wondering why I’m so excited to see the sun…well! It’s April, still windy, cold and miserable in London and finally the sun greets us! Hell yeah, I’m going to be ecstatic!😀 What did you guys get up to? Anything exciting?!

Here’s hoping spring is just around the corner and the snow doesn’t make a comeback *fingers crossed* because this Spring it’s all about some flirty fun! I plan on wearing lots of colour, quirky prints and sandals. My feet are dying to breathe! Talking about fun and flirty, who loved Burberry’s heart prints visible through see through skirts as modelled by model-of-the-moment Miss Cara Delevingne.

london-cara-delevingne-burberry-001

Safe to say, not all us fashion lovers can afford the extortionate prices of Burberry but us humble fashionistas can improvise and look else where to other brands who can cater to similar tastes! With all the major fashion weeks having given us full blown doses of fashion back to back- there are brands who have taken inspiration from the catwalk and offered us fashion lovers something to look forward to wearing this spring/summer!

A brand that has just hit my radar is Max Studio. Although an established brand since 1979, it has been quietly successful and looking at their current collection- there are definitely pieces I would want in my wardrobe! Their Spring/Summer 2013 collection has some inspiration pieces from the likes of Burberry like the heart-printed jacquard trousers and shorts.

Wear it Now_Heart Print

Looking around the site, it’s very easy to navigate and what I look out for on any fashion website are the VISUALS. They need to be crisp, detailed, stand out and colourful! They need to shout at me to look at them…not even look…GAWK at them! And this website does that. One of my favourite dresses from their new collection is this printed geometric number. I just love the colour combination and can think of a number of ways I would wear it- with some amazing accessories! Ah I’m getting giddy with excitement thinking about how many looks I can milk out of this dress. After all, we are still in throes of an economic downturn dah-lings so got to be smart about it as well, y’know!

3201C52-0-BRORGOCB

Also love this red dress! Perfectly fits the fun and flirty look for the coming season! Love the sheer panel details as well. And for someone who is conscious about their upper arms (ME!!), the cap sleeves coupled with the  pleated skirt give a flattering look.

3101553-0-DKRUBY

Now ladies, it’s crunch time. Yes, we are going to talk about the monies! Now these clothes don’t come cheap. The geometric print dress is retailing at £99 where as this red number is £175. These are not your run-of-the mill purchases. You spend this sort of money when you’re giving your wardrobe a makeover. And since we’re just at the cusp, where Winter is (HOPEFULLY) bidding farewell and Spring is stepping in, I have a feeling a lot of us will be going for that uplift very soon. I think if you’re good with accessorising then you can re-work these pieces over and over again! Trust me I do that all the time and people still ask me if I’m wearing a “new” top😉

All in all, I’m impressed with this brand and will be keeping a close eye on these guys! Who knows I may end up adding a few pieces myself!😉

Check out their Spring/Summer 2013 collection and see if anything catches your fancy. Have you bought anything from these guys before? Let me know how your experience was and what is your opinion of this brand?

Till the next time my beauties! xxx

Nothing like new additions to your jewellery collection. What makes it even more special is your friends gifting them to you and they know what you’d like!! Totally in love right now.

The ring and leather wrap-around bracelet is from Juicy Couture. Now this brand is quite controversial where some people call it “chavy” (non-english people please google the word :P) BUT!! In JC’s defence I would say I for one love most of their jewellery, may be not all of it but all the ones I’ve bought myself and I have been gifted I just LOVE them. Plus the pieces I’ve got don’t have any OTT branding on them so they’re great pieces and ones to keep! Yeah if you’re going to wear a JC tracksuit and UGG boots then I’m sorry but that would be classed as “chavy”. But you have to make sure you wear the brand the right way. FYI! you can never wear Paul’s Boutique the “right” way. That brand is “chavtastic” as it’s best! I think I’ve over done the word “chavy” in this post.

My bestie knows what works for me!😉

If you’ve got cash to splash then you have designer options like Hermés, Chloe, Celine and Cartier etc. I have spotted the Hermés cuff bracelets quite a lot and it is on my wish list!

Check out a few I’ve spotted.

So it’s been more than a year since I started blogging. Slowly and steadily I have managed to keep on going because I love fashion and love talking about it. Lots of people have encouraged me along the way and I am proud of where I have gotten so far. This is just the beginning and there is still lots more work to be done but I wanted to take this time and thank every one of you who has liked my work and shown their support via different social media channels- wordpress, twitter or Facebook. A BIG SMACKER! and an even bigger THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for following my work. Please do spread the word!! I am always open to feedback and people looking to collaborate can always contact me🙂 xxxx

What Ash’s heeled sneaker couldn’t achieve, Isabel Marant’s high top wedge trainers did! Now every where you go, whether its ZARA, Forever21, TOPSHOP, ALDO etc- they’re all stocking similar versions. I managed to get my special editions ones from ZARA which are almost the same as Isabel Marant except that they’re not!😛 But hey I don’t have £400+ to spare on those shoes so I have to settle for the next best. If you are intrigued, check out the prices of the Isabel Marant’s high tops on eBAY and your heart may just temporarily stop beating.

To be fair, these shoes aren’t everyones cup of tea so please don’t buy them just to seem “fashionable” because they can also have the opposite affect!

This is how I styled mine:

So!! How have my lovely followers/readers been recently? London is fast becoming the North/South Pole (whichever you prefer) and I am hoping one of these days it will actually snow in MY part of London rather than the measly ol’ frost!

Okay I am going to make a confession and I call it my guilty pleasure- Ireadtheentertainmentsectionofdailymaileveryday!! There!  I said it. I’m sure you get that my lack of spaces in that sentence was deliberate??

Any way, this post is going to cover the celebrity pictures I come across on the said paper.

Ok, so up first is our very own Liverpudlian, a famous WAG in her own right, Ms Alex Gerrard. I do like her style actually. She is always quite trendy and styles herself really well. It’s good she kept her makeup understated and focused on the eyes. I think anything more would’ve been an overkill. LOVE the Isabel Marant boots. Quite a few celebs have been seen wearing them around town. I love their red version too. They’re called the Isable Marant Berry boots with cut out appliqué. For £670 they’re definitely going to leave a dent in your bank account! To round off this look, I’m impartial to faux fur (not sure if it is fake in Alex’s case) and love the coat!

The next celeb is our very own X-factor judge, Tulisa not-going-to-try-spelling-lastname. Her style’s a bit hit and miss. Some times she looks nice and some times she does NOT!  Anyone who’s been following X-Factor would’ve been following the fashion choices of Tulisa. Needless to say, Nicole won hands down (not that I’m pitting them against each other……. On second thought, I AM!) One thing to remember about fierce footwear that Tulisa is wearing in this pic- DON’T wear chunky ankle boots if you’ve got slightly..um chubby is definitely not the right word here because she’s not…Actually she’s got short legs and these boots are making her legs look chunky. Not loving the dress, hairstyle, the belt around the waist with the gold studs…NO NO NO!

Moving on.

Ms Karolina K-k-k-k-urkova! One word for this look. FIERCE!!

Love the whole look. Very sharp, eye-popping colour, great way of breaking the look by adding black peep toe shoes and bag. And the best accessory of all- her dazzling smile! She ain’t a supermodel for nothing.

article-2244945-166821D2000005DC-574_306x730

Talking of supermodels. The other Victoria’s Secret angel who’s been getting massive amount of coverage is Ms Miranda Kerr. She’s followed around by paparazzi while taking flights, juggling her motherly duties with the cutest baby of all, going to work or business meetings and STILL looking fabulous. I love her and her style. She makes all this look so effortless. When I’m a mummy, I still hope I keep my sense of style and figure (??).

Love the smart look of her outfit. The Givenchy bag is one of my favourites and so are the Miu Miu shades she’s rocking. I do love Miranda’s collection of sunnies. She’s got some cool pairs.

article-0-16669066000005DC-393_634x921

Like her, I love buying sunglasses. I mean, living in London where there’s hardly any sun, most of you would think it’s a bit much. But hey! can’t help it. So my favourite one at the moment is the leopard print one in the middle. These sunnies are part of Miu Miu’s Fall 2011 collection. If anyone of you out there who loves me and wants to buy something nice for me this Christmas then I wouldn’t mind mentioning the one in the middle is on my wish list. *hint* *hint*

Right! Next up is none other than the lady who holds the Best Derriere spot- Pippa Middleton. She snapped here heading to her friend’s wedding reception in Northern Ireland. I like her choice of outfit. She balanced the blue with a camel coloured hat and an orange bag. I’m glad she didn’t go too matchy-matchy! Love the fur around the shoulders. All in all, a well pulled together outfit.

Pippa Middleton at Alex Roupell and Emma Logue wedding in Northern Ireland

While I am commenting on Ms Middleton, she was snapped walking arm in arm with her girlfriend. Her friend seems to be the risk taker and seems to be having fun with her outfit. Love the headpiece. I’m not sure if the flowers are part of her hat or they’re separate but either way, they’re are great attention grabber. I love how she’s matched the red clutch to the red flower in her hair and the way she’s cinched her waist with a belt. However, I do not like her choice of footwear. No matter how cold it is, I feel boots for a wedding are not appropriate footwear. You need to be a bit more formal which, sadly, these boots are not. But I definitely love the rest of the outfit.

article-2245070-16696BD0000005DC-911_634x1125

Who has seen One Tree Hill? If you have then obviously you know about Sophia Bush. I am so used to seeing her in shoulder length slightly curly hair with a middle parting that the fringe is a nice change. It is definitely suiting her. And I like the casual-bordering-on-going-out look. I like the plaid print in her jacket finished with leather sleeves. A very versatile jacket that can be worn during the day or at night. I like.

article-0-16644490000005DC-436_306x652

Speaking of adding leather to the look, I admire Kristen Stewart’s looks. They are flawless every single time. I don’t know if I should credit her, her stylist of both of them. But they are doing an amazing job. I have been following her red carpet looks and there wasn’t one occasion where I could criticise her. Even in this look, it’s understated yet sharp. You don’t need to add anything else. Love the hair, the make up, the outfit and great job of ending the look with those red shoes. (I WANT THEM!)

Vanity Fair Screening Series Presented by Hugo Boss V.I.P Screening Of "On the Road"

There is no article about celebrity fashion without a mention of Ms Paltrow. A fashionista in her own right, this ageless beauty is a true fashion maven. Even on her flight back from Dubai, she is bringing home her effortless chic style. I love red! and I love the shape of this jacket. It looks really comfortable- loose sleeves, big collar and paired with skinny jeans; it really accentuates her figure really well. A bit of bling is always good so no wonder she needs those sunnies! And finished off that look with that bag- love the colour and it sits really well with the whole outfit. 10/10!!

article-0-16664C1E000005DC-37_634x817

And last but not the least. I mean all I can say to this is…

                                                                            BITCH PLEASE!!!!

I am loving Zara this season because everything they are coming out with is trendy, stylish and makes you want to buy it!!

So this leather sleeve grey coat is my current favourite- it’s become my wardrobe staple. I’ve been wearing this with pretty much everything I own in my wardrobe or that will go with it.
