Hello my fashionable followers/readers/fellow bloggers!!
I know I have not been as regular as I usually am but you cannot expect me to work while I am away. Writing full on posts feels a bit arduous! For that follow me on Twitter (@NidaJehan) and get all the latest (read: regular) posts and pictures. BUT! I have been piling up work for myself and I will be updating you all on what I bought/wore/styled/wanted-to-die-wearing!!
So I bought this top from this local boutique called Chinyere’. It’s a subsidiary of this clothing conglomerate called Bareeze’ whose unstitched cloth of the finest cotton, silk and chiffon Pakistani women swear by! It was on SALE!! Yes!! So not only was it a bargain but it was really stylish as well. Value for money I would say! The colour is very Spring/Summer and around the neck is a hand embroidered design that looks like I’m wearing a necklace so you don’t need to wear any jewellery. Very smart! It’s shaped like a paper bag upside down and is tight around the legs. It is very flattering to the figure. And if this top isn’t impressive enough from the front, check out the back! Keeps the onlooker entertained from front and back! hah! I got it for a cool Rs.3000 which is a cool £20! Not bad at all.
A woman who’s style I really love and admire is Kate Beckinsale. She carries herself so well and I’ve hardly ever seen her in a fashion disaster. She’s such a babe and looks amazing in whatever she wears. Check her out wearing this on-trend one shoulder jumpsuit and I love this deep fuchsia colour! She accessorised it with just the right amount of accessories and minimal make up. I think I should give credit to her stylist as well who probably went through several outfit changes before deciding on this winner. A job well done! Definitely brightened up the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards.
I was just going to end this post with her looking super hot but then decided why not do a whole feature focussing on jumpsuits?! If you’re looking to copy her style this summer, then I’ve got a selection for you. You don’t need to go crazy on the printed jumpsuits, a solid colour looks just fine as it’s like a blank canvas and you can play around with chunky jewellery, accessories and shoes! O the shoes…
This one comes in 3 different colours. Hurry up and get your hands on this jumpsuit as it’s selling out fast! I love the ruffle detail and the back has a criss cross design plus the silky material gives it a very ethereal look. Click hereto get yours.
A short jumpsuit but a very cute number. If you’re petite (like moi!) and always have to go through a million shops before you find the right size or haggle someone to alter yours, then this short version is the perfect one for you. The canary yellow colour, the net sleeves and the bow (its HUGE but does not look out of place) make it a very key part of your summer wardrobe. Imagine wearing it with some flip flops, a straw hat, peppermint nails and some frappes. O how lovely dah-ling! I can ramble on but hey! if you want to buy this jumpsuit, then click here.
This red jumpsuits looks slightly more formal than the rest. The cut is very straight and structured. It would suit someone who’s going for a very sharp and less fussy look. Unlike the frills or bows, this one has a one-shoulder detail and that is all it would need. All it needs is a chunky necklace, a cocktail ring, and a clutch to finish the look. You can either play around with the red and black combo or be a bit more daring and add some multicoloured accessories to the look. It comes in two colours, choose yours here.
I really love this slinky jumpsuit by Halston Heritage. It is a great and effortless look for a night out. Fuss free and manageable. The Berry colour is just right too. To shop yours, click here. With these monotone solid colours, you can bring out the attire with your choice of accessories. I love sites like ASOS and Net-A-Porter that have everything in one place nicely categorised so you can easily choose and match your outfit. With jumpsuits like these, you need some chunky bracelets that stand out and you don’t need to pile them on like there’s no tomorrow. One or two would do.

So ladies, you don’t need any more inspiration. A word of advice: Jumpsuits can be very flattering and Unflattering at the same time so make sure the one you choose fits you well and does not cling on to all the wrong places. If it’s not for you then don’t wear or buy it! Some trends are better left alone.
With Spring/Summer just around the corner, I predict scarves are going to make a big come back. Style it how you like- around your neck, tie your hair with it, make it a headband, tie it around your wrist or your bag: your choice!
With prints and colour making a big comeback, The Outnet has a fabulous range of Emilio Pucci scarves at up to 65% off. So why not add a bit of colour to your outfit and start investing in one helluva SS2012 wardrobe without breaking the bank?? Have a browse through and see if you’d like any that would match with your white shirt or a dress. For a whole range of scarves from Emilio Pucci, please click here.
Here’s some inspiration on how to style yours. Disclaimer: I do not own the pictures. I do love Google!
I’m a fan of finding good bargains and buying items that will go through to the next season so before I officially leave the sales and winter fashion behind, I plan on doing a series of posts (like I did on Kurt Geiger, click here) that will highlight the bargains you can get before the sales end or even a look you can accomplish for the coming SS 2012 through the current sales.
So my first choice for a style edit is TOPSHOP. I browsed the website and their sale items and I’ve put together a look that is as colourful as SS 2012 and incorporates all the right trends! From lots of colour to print, from shimmer to studs- it’s all there and on a SALE price!

I love my “sunflower” coat my sister got me from Miss Selfridge years ago yet it is still so current and fashionable! Sunflower coat is a name I’ve given to my coat as it’s a mix of tangerine and canary yellow. I love wearing it in gloomy winters when the weather is miserable. It’s a perfect pick me up coat that brightens up my day, puts a skip in my step, makes me want to sing and jump with joy. No, it doesn’t. And you wouldn’t want to hear me singing. But it looks really cool and makes me stand out among the blacks, the browns and the greys people tend to wear. Seriously, people need to wear more colours during winters!!
I know your clothes are meant to reflect your mood but not when winters are already so gloomy and miserable. We need some colour people! And this coat is so SS 2012! I love it’s kimono style sleeves and the way it has a slight A-shape that makes it fall really well. Wear some colour. It will brighten up your mood and hopefully someone else’s too! xx
Some brands achieve such a level of recognition that their bags can be spotted from a distance. For example, you will be able to tell apart a Prada from a Miu Miu bag or a Gucci from LV. But for designers like Stella McCartney, who have only hit the mainstream around 2000-2001, it is hard to develop that sort of recognition. But I feel with her collection of Falabella bags, she has achieved it. Her bags are distinct and even though they’re not splattered all over with her name or logo, you can tell it’s a Stella bag!
I love the name Falabella. The current collection is fun, colourful and ticks the right boxes. There is an attention in detail and my personal favourite is the Chalk Falabella Faux Python Big Tote. I love the pink fluro contrast that runs along the edges- very SS 2012. I am personally sick of every other person carrying the same old LV bag with its logo splattered all over! Or the same old Gucci. There are so many other designers like Stella McCartney who design some amazing bags- Givenchy being another favourite of mine. You’d rather stand out than blend in right? Well here’s your chance!
Don’t be afraid to play with colour! It will brighten up your day and you never know someone else’s too!! All the items used are listed below but you don’t have to go by the book. Find your own bargains and style a similar look!
What a way to kickstart SS 2012! I love this campaign by Net-A-Porter.
I LOVE colours and I am sooooo happy, delighted, excited (and all such synonyms) to see all the designers bringing bright colours back into the Spring/Summer 2012 Collections. This is a heads up ladies! You know the rules. Any drab, dull and gloomy colours will be reported to the fashion police!
SS 2012 is all about yummy pastels and bright colours- pinks, nudes, peaches…aah!! can’t wait for Spring/Summer!! Bag this Chanel collection in preparation for the new season (All Londoners keep your fingers crossed this year’s summer is better than last year’s “barely there”)
